Château Sociando-Mallet is an estate in the northern Médoc (the wines are bottled under the Haut-Médoc appellation) and is generally considered on a par with many classified growths. Although the estate is not listed in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, it was ranked as a fifth growth in the unofficial 2011 version of the wine trade site Liv-Ex. It has a reputation for producing full-bodied, classically structured wines with firm tannins and great ageing potential from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
