Château Bonalgue 1997 Pomerol 0,75L 12,5% Vol. Alc.

Château Bonalgue (Pomerol), a 9.4 hectare vineyard at the south-western end of the appellation, on the edge of Libourne, planted with 90 per cent Merlot and ten per cent Cabernet Franc. Not only this château but many others belong to Jean-Baptiste Audy, a family-run negociant based in Libourne, who owns a number of châteaux on the right bank of the Dordogne in Bordeaux, including Pomerol, Lussac-Saint-Émilion and Lalande de Pomerol. Jean-Baptiste Audy is based on the Quai du Priourat right on the banks of the Dordogne in the town of Libourne (a historic location for wine merchants - JP Janoueix is a neighbour and JP Moueix is a few doors down) and also has exclusive trading and distribution partnerships with numerous châteaux. The company is perhaps best known for its ownership of estates in nearby appellations such as Château Monregard La Croix, Château du Courlat and Château Les Hauts-Conseillants.
