Barbaresco ist ein trockener Rotwein, der aus der Nebbiolo-Traube in der Barbaresco-Region im Piemont im Nordwesten Italiens am Fuße der Alpen hergestellt wird. Barbaresco ist ein relativ tiefer, granatfarbener Wein mit ziegelroten Farbtönen, der mit der Zeit eine stärkere ziegelrote Farbe entwickelt. Barbaresco wird im Weingut etwas mehr als zwei Jahre (mindestens) oder etwas mehr als vier Jahre (für Barbaresco Riserva) gelagert, mit einer Mindestdauer von neun Monaten Eichenreifung. Wie ausgeprägt der Einfluss der Eiche auf den fertigen Wein ist, hängt vom Produzenten ab.
