Barone Ricasoli 1997 Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico DOCG Toskana 0,75L 13,5% Vol. Alc.

Barone Ricasoli is the largest and oldest winery in the Chianti Classico region and is one of the four oldest wineries in the world. It is based at the famous Castello di Brolio in Gaiole and is known for its high-quality, Sangiovese-dominated wines and has a reputation for fair prices. The winery has around 235 hectares of vineyards surrounding the Castello di Brolio and extending over the municipalities of Gaiole and Castelnuovo Berardenga. The wine cellars are located at the foot of the castle and combine tradition and modernity in wine production. Ricasoli's wines are vinified in small, gravity-fed steel tanks, which allow the vineyard parcels to be kept separate. Ricasoli's flagship wine is the Gran Selezione Chianti Classico, which comes from various parcels of the estate. The blend consists of 80 per cent Sangiovese and 10 per cent each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
